Functionality

Basically, these two shopping web sites are not much different in functionality except two points that we think determinants of consumer`s preference.

1. Shopping process
First of all, E-mart and Home plus is different in shopping process. Their shopping application is based on graphic approach. For example, if someone wants to buy some items, he can use his mouse and drag and drop the item into shopping cart that is prepared in the bottom of web site. This shopping process is very intuitive so consumer can enjoy their shopping easily. He can easily assess how much he chooses and how much he should pay while he shops because shopping area and wish list area is combined. But there are some drawbacks in this process. This web site sends lager quantity of information, so sometimes this site doesn`t work normally to someone whose internet circumstances are in bad condition. And this process seems that their servers need continuous interaction with each other. More processes are complex with more errors. This picture below shows error when I drag and drop the item in cart.

But these drawbacks can be modified by improving their infrastructure and inspecting their error and fixing. So this shopping process can offer consumer significant convenience.
On the other hands, shopping process in Home-Plus is more based on text. When he chooses item, the item is transferred into other webpage. So people should move on cart page to check the total price he has chosen. This process makes people do more work and this can be a big role for consumers to change into E-mart, but we assessed that Home-Plus is more stable system than E-mart. So these two web sites have each advantages and disadvantages.

2. Access from smart phone
Second point is that, smart phone accessibility. Both of them, E-mart and Home-Plus offer smart application through QR code(which means recognition the code through smart phone camera). If user has application (E-mart or Home-Plus), he can enjoy shopping by smart phone. However, E-mart web site is works better because it can be feasible without application.
This picture shows user using smart phone to shop without application which means that he can use the use website directly. Home-Plus’ must require the certain application. That`s why we concluded that E-mart`s accessibility is higher than that of Home-Plus.

Interactivity

Both E-mart and Home-Plus deliver products at ANYTIME customer want. Buyer can designate the day and time of delivery. We checked that both sites deliver the product at assigned time. Moreover both site rank customer according to purchasing record, and offer different discount or accumulate point rate. As higher the rank is, higher discount or accumulate point rate are. According to user’s rank or type of credit card, they could get different rate. In most cases E-mart offers higher rate than
